Sceptred Amethyst Quartz

Location:Boekenhout, Mpumalanga, (NE of Pretoria), South Africa
In the years 2006/2008, this was one of the most beautiful discoveries of sceptred amethysts in South Africa  which we were lucky enough to recover on site. Unfortunately this very beautiful intense color was quickly dried up on this small deposit, which  subsequently produced only specimens of little interest (bland color and few pretty groups). The piece presented here is remarkable for its quality and size.
 Dimensions without the acrylic base, which is supplied with the mineralogical specimen.
The mineral is not stuck to the base (soft putty).
