Twin Fluorite and Galena

Twin Fluorite and Galena

SKU: 0956

Dimensions: 10.5 x 3.7 x 8.5cm

Opened in 2017 by UK Mining Ventures on the Sutcliffe vein of the former Rogerley quarry, the Diana Maria Mine extends the story of the legendary Weardale fluorites, which began in 1972. The site has since joined the Greenbank Vein, the historic Rogerley vein.
The Pyjama Pocket (Sept. 2025) is one of the latest major discoveries: emerald green fluorite twins, gem-quality, about 1 cm in size, set on small frosted cubes with a predominantly white color, offering a very beautiful contrast.
The most sought-after pieces are, as here, associated with small cubo-octahedral galena crystals nestled between the fluorites: a rare and very aesthetic contrast.

The blue fluorescence is remarkable, clearly visible in daylight as well as under LED lighting.

This piece is of a beautiful size, the crystals are very well distributed over the whole and are all perfect, without any flaws.
A pocket with few pieces but which, due to its quality, becomes a Weardale classic.

Dimensions without the acrylic base, which is supplied with the mineralogical specimen.

The mineral is not glued to the base (flexible sealant).
