Beryl variety Emerald on Calcite
Dimensions: 5.1 x 3.6cm
Location: Shigar Valley, Skardu district, Karakoram, Pakistan
Coming from the mine on the outskirts of Mingora, this very old deposit was one of the most famous, until the discovery of much more precious Colombian emeralds. This piece has the particularity of having had its crystal fractured and reassembled in a natural way during its crystallization with calcite. (Sample checked and not restored). The presentation offers a nice contrast with the calcite, the crystal has pretty faces and a very beautiful color. We have rarely seen a mineralogical sample of such good quality for this deposit whose emeralds are more often intended for cutting. Crystal dimension: 1.2cm
Dimensions without the acrylic base, which is supplied with the mineralogical specimen.
The mineral is not glued to the base.
