Adamite
Dimensions: 5 x 2 x Ht 4cm
Location: Ojuela Mine, Mapimí, Durango, Mexico
Old piece from the Ojuela mine which was very productive in the 70s-80s. Not all the Adamites discovered were of very good quality, but some like this one, were really superb with an intense yellow-green color. The crystals of this specimen are very bright, practically fluorescent in daylight or artificial light (They are strongly fluorescent in short and long Ultra violets). The crystals have a lot of shine and are, a rarer feature, partially translucent and gem-like at the ends. Beautiful harmony of the piece with its 2 crystallized "wheels". Excellent pedigree of this specimen!, having belonged to the collections of: WB Sanborn, D.Crawford, Dr. H.-J. Wilke, Dr. E. Lopatka.
Dimensions without the acrylic base, which is supplied with the mineralogical specimen.
The mineral is not glued to the base (soft putty).
